Lund Life Science Incubator (LSI) are moving into Medicon Village in the end of February and beginning of March. The premises are three times as big as what they are leaving behind. Spago, one of the incubator companies, are unpacking their boxes: - Previously we were overcrowded, but now the surfaces are more generous and also here is more equipment, says Umear Naseem, Master´s student practicing at the company.
Lund Life Science Incubator helps entrepreneurs and start-up companies within Life Science to develop and commercialise their products and services. There are 20 companies with 80 employees in total at the incubator. Moving to Medicon Village make it possible for the incubator to offer their companies even better laboratories - equipped with state-of the art instrumentations specifically suited to different types of life science activities.
- To develop products and services in the life science area are costly and time consuming. It is difficult for small companies to finance their work. Lund LSI can make a difference when providing support, expertise and instrumentations, says Evy Lundgren Åkerlund, CEO at Lund LSI.
Also, Evy Lundgren Åkerlund expects major collaboration opportunities being part of Medicon Village: - Medicon Village offers a unique meeting place and arenas for exchange of ideas, and also a positive environment for small incubator companies to continue their growth.
