Life science and tech companies in the Öresund region are seeking new stars for their global teams, while skilled students, doctoral candidates, and PhDs from around the world search for exciting job opportunities. To bring companies and candidates together, Medicon Village and Ideon Science Park are teaming up to organise matchmaking events, Career Days, within the Life Science and Tech sectors, respectively.

Medicon Village and Ideon Science Park will each host a Career Day in December, bringing companies and candidates together through matchmaking and meetings. The Tech-focused Career Day will be held at Ideon on 3 December, and the Life Science-focused Career Day will be held at Medicon Village on 4 December. Both events are in close proximity to each other within the Lund Innovation District.

The two days will feature matchmaking, company exhibitions, and breakout sessions with hands-on topics, such as advice on how to perfect your CV.

“We know from experience that these types of events make a difference and are concrete efforts that bring talents and companies together,” says Lotta Wessfeldt, Deputy CEO of Ideon Science Park.

To ensure a solid mix of top-tier companies and highly skilled students, the Tech-focused event is co-organised by the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University (LTH), Ideon Science Park, and the City of Lund, while the Life Science-focused Career Day is co-organised by the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University and Medicon Village.

"Access to skilled labour is a prerequisite for the life science sector in Skåne to continue growing. The Career Days are vital pieces of the puzzle for attracting and retaining talent and expertise in the region," says Petter Hartman, CEO of Medicon Village Innovation.

The Career Days are part of the Cross-Border Talent Bridge project, an EU Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak-funded initiative aimed at strengthening talent attraction and retention in life sciences and deep tech in the Öresund region. The main partners in the project are the Municipality of Lund, Ideon Science Park, Medicon Village, Mobile Heights, Copenhagen Capacity, the Municipality of Copenhagen, and Medicon Valley Alliance.
