Diagonal Bio graduates from the prestigious NOME program

Medicon Village

On 9th November, the Medicon Village-based company, Diagonal Bio, successfully graduated from the NOME program after receiving valuable strategic advice and guidance from the mentor team. NOME is an elite pan-Nordic mentoring program aiming to increase the probability of success for life science startups by connecting them to highly experienced international mentors for a period of up to 2 years. The goal of the NOME program is to drive value, reach milestones, test assumptions, and prepare for international market readiness.

Diagonal Bio is developing the Panviral platform to detect and diagnose small sections of pathogen genomes, such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The company was founded in 2020 with the goal of reducing human suffering by revolutionizing global diagnostics of pathogen-borne diseases with its proprietary technology.

The graduation meeting was held in conjunction with the NOME Annual Meeting 2023, where leading experts within the life sciences, NOME partners, case companies, and mentors meet and network. Upon graduation, the NOME companies are offered the chance to continue in the valuable NOME C-level sessions and attend future NOME events as alumni companies.

“To have an independent sounding board of mentors for two years has been incredible valuable for me as a CEO. I look forward to stay in the NOME network and also pass my given knowledge on to future young CEOs”, says Jack Egelund Madsen, CEO of Diagonal Bio.

Medicon Village is the NOME partner responsible for scouting candidate companies, startups from all areas of life sciences, therapeutics/pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and evidence-based/clinical digital health companies, as well as industrial biotech in the southern part of Sweden, up to Gothenburg and Jönköping. Medicon Village also provides NOME with mentors, professionals from all over the world with diverse backgrounds such as serial entrepreneurs, investors, clinical experts, and representatives from larger biotech/pharma and MedTech companies within our network.
