As reported by news agency Rapidus, the Swedish medtech firm Avidicare has raised 11 million SEK from its current owners. The funding will support the further growth of the company following the recent increase in demand for the Opragon operating room ventilation system.
Two new countries will start performing surgery under the Opragon ventilation system this summer - Germany and Switzerland. These are important milestones since they fuel further interest in other hospitals. Increased demand also in the Nordics and the Netherlands now means that Avidicare will deliver more than 40 new systems in addition to the 130+ they have already have installed.
-"As antibiotic resistance increases, more and more hospitals are starting to recognize that it is better to prevent the bacteria from entering the wounds in the first place than trying to cure it afterwards. Currently, we get requests from many new markets and we plan to grow our team to serve these areas as well", says Peter Höjerback, CEO of Avidicare.
