The Bridge Digital Talk #24 Magnus Qvant

The Bridge Digital Talk #24 Magnus Qvant
The event has expired

What is urban resilience and how can it make cities better prepared for crises?

Cities experience pressures and stresses, sudden and shocking as well as chronic. This has become painfully true through the last months’ ongoing pandemic. Among the chronic challenges are climate change, aging cities and ever disruptive technologies. All challenges impact the functionality of our cities and regions.

If we fail to maintain the functionality of cities and regions, the costs are far beyond the obvious direct costs. By investing in urban resilience, with smart and sustainable solutions, we can be better prepared.

Magnus Qvant is a co-founder of Nordic Urban Resilience Institute and will share insights on how to achieve sustainable societies by making them resilient.

This is a highly relevant talk. Both for you who work with city planning and development, but also for everyone living in a city – since we are dependent on functionalites like water and energy.

After the talk you will get a better understanding of the meaning of resilient cities, how it can make us better prepared for crisis like corona and how other cities do.

The event is free of charge thanks to CR Competence, Nanolund och Medicon Village.
