Mats Paulsson Foundations announce a 10 Million SEK grant for Alzheimer’s research
During the spring of 2024, Mats Paulsson turned 80 years old. To honour the founder of the Mats Paulsson Foundations and Medicon Village on his birthday, the foundations’ boards have decided to double this year’s donation allocation to 50 million kronor. The intention is, among other things, to promote research focused on Alzheimer’s disease.
Applications are hereby invited for a grant of 10 million kronor for a groundbreaking project in Alzheimer’s research. Dementia is classified as a common disease by the World Health Organization (WHO). Currently, approximately 160,000 people in Sweden are affected by some form of dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease being the most common. The grant aims to enable a clinical breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
Applications can be submitted by a research group or by several collaborating research groups with a principal applicant. Applicants must hold a PhD and be employed at a Swedish university with a medical faculty.
