Medicon Village Gears Up for a Transformative Autumn: New Labs, Expanded Programs, and Fresh Partnerships

Medicon Village

After a relaxing holiday and much needed rest over the summer, it's time to prepare for an intense and exciting autumn. At Medicon Village, we are eager to take significant steps in our development with our members and partners.

Summer provides a much-needed opportunity for rest and relaxation, essential for maintaining a sustainable work life and a balanced daily routine. This year, it offered most of us a welcomed chance to unwind after a challenging winter and spring, especially in the biotech industry.

We are optimistic about the second half of 2024. Despite the recent challenges faced by many companies due to a tough investment climate, the demand to be part of our innovation environment at Medicon Village remains high. This autumn, we aim to achieve several key milestones in our development journey, which we can only accomplish through close collaboration with you, our partners and members.

Over the summer, we started the gradual move-in to our new laboratory building. More companies will join us throughout the autumn. This brand-new facility plays a crucial role in creating optimal conditions for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship at Medicon Village, allowing more companies to become part of our growing life sciences-focused innovation environment.

We are thrilled to announce and celebrate this year's recipients of donations from our owner, the Mats Paulsson Foundation for Research, Innovation, and Societal Development. In honour of Mats Paulsson's 80th birthday, donations will be increased this year and marked with a ceremony on 18 October. We will share more details as the date approaches.

Additionally, we are actively enhancing our value proposition for member companies in their innovation journey. Earlier this year, we launched the 10xHealth scale-up program for life science companies in collaboration with SmiLe Venture Hub. We are proud to announce that the NOME mentorship program has received funding from the Novo Nordisk Foundation for another five years. This summer, Medicon Village and partners in the Greater Copenhagen area received support to attract international talent and highlight career paths in the life sciences sector. In short, we have a busy autumn ahead.
