Medicon Village represents the best of Swedish life science innovation at prolific international conference

More than 15,000 international entrepreneurs, investors and leaders from the tech world gathered in Doha between 26-28 February 2024 for the Web Summit Qatar, which brings together the people and companies redefining the global tech industry and is considered one of the world’s largest tech conferences.

At the Web Summit, Sarah Lidé, Deputy CEO of Medicon Village Innovation, was a part of a distinguished panel that aimed to shed light on Sweden’s remarkable success in building a thriving life science ecosystem, renowned for its innovation and its ability to foster close collaboration between academia, industry, and government.

Organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Qatar and hosted by the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council, the panel emphasized the intersection of life sciences and emerging technologies, and delved into the latest trends in life sciences, with a particular focus on Sweden’s adoption of AI and deep-tech in healthcare. The discussion also highlighted the critical role of entrepreneurship, start-ups, and incubators in driving innovation and fostering a dynamic health ecosystem.
