Mentoring opportunity at Katedralskolan

Medicon Village

Katedralskolan in Lund is looking for mentors for the upcoming academic year to coach final-year students on the Natural Science Programme in their projects related to economics and entrepreneurship. The collaboration with Katedralskolan is part of Medicon Village’s focus on Talent Attraction/Retention and aims to contribute to the quality of education for the school’s usual six classes of upper secondary students per year within the natural sciences. In the long term, this initiative can benefit the talent pipeline for the life science industry.

Katedralskolan is seeking mentors for the upcoming academic year to coach final-year students in the Natural Science Programme on their projects in economics and entrepreneurship. The mentoring can take three different forms, ranging from a short “lecture” about your work or business to meeting with students on several occasions.

  • Company/Organisation Presentation. Katedralskolan is looking for professionals active in the life science field who are interested in giving a guest lecture on the theme of “insights from professional life” (e.g., career development, day-to-day responsibilities, or an overview of your organisation’s focus). The content can either reflect your personal career experience or relate to your profession in line with the school’s educational goals (e.g., research with a clinical focus).
  • Teaching Sessions. The school also welcomes professionals who are willing to conduct guest lectures that give insight into their profession and workplace, tailored to align with the school’s curriculum in life sciences.
  • Project Work Coaching. Students run real-life projects in collaboration with an external partner who is genuinely interested in the results. Through this partnership, students gain first-hand experience of a professional environment that may become a future workplace. In spring 2025, five of Katedralskolan’s student projects reached the finals of Unga Forskare’s national research competition. One goal of the collaboration could be to help even more projects reach the 2026 competition.
