Almedalsveckan 2026: Promoting life science in Sweden, and innovation in Skåne
At the end of June, we look forward to being part of two major events hosted in our large premium tent at a prime location on Hamnplan in Visby – Life Science-dagen and Skånes Innovationsarena.
Life Science-dagen on Wednesday 24 June is a joint initiative between us and five prominent companies, including four global pharmaceutical leaders, highlighting the importance of life science as a key industrial force in Sweden. Although many life science companies and organisations already participate in Almedalsveckan – Sweden’s leading forum for public debate and opinion, with 42,000 attendees and 2,400 events in 2025 – and despite life science being Sweden’s second-largest export industry, a unified meeting place or dedicated life science day has so far been missing. Creating that platform is precisely why we are organising this day.
Skånes Innovationsarena on Thursday 25 June is a collaboration between us and eight leading companies and organisations. The initiative builds on the former Öresundshuset presence at Almedalsveckan and aims to raise awareness of the many exciting developments in our region, while showcasing the potential of closer collaboration between academia, industry, support systems and the public sector.
We now know which 13 companies and organisations we will team up with across the two days, and their names will be announced in March. Ideally, we would have welcomed twice as many partners to meet the strong interest, but space is limited and prioritisation has therefore been necessary. In addition to the confirmed partners, there will be opportunities for other prominent representatives from Swedish life science and innovation in Skåne to take part as panellists and attendees.
