Commercialisation: Medicon Village’s key activities in September-November

To drive innovation and business growth, we actively promote our site and members in high-impact contexts. By building a strong brand and cultivating relationships with influential organisations and companies, we create the leverage needed to boost both our members and the innovation district we are proud to be part of.

– From September to November our commercialisation focus is on participating in three major European events, while in parallel continuously managing collaboration and membership discussions with potential partners. Interest in our life science park is increasing, as is awareness of the important role we play as a major hub for life science research and business, demonstrated by among other positive developments Big Pharma companies AstraZeneca and Roche becoming members this year, says Mikael Lagerwall, Director of Business Development at Medicon Village Innovation.

NLSDays (Gothenburg)

Nordic Life Science Days 2025 will take place in Gothenburg on 13-14 October. Medicon Village Innovation will similar to last year have a 6 x 6 m stand in a prime location for our members to use for free as a platform for their event participation. Medicon Village members are also eligible for a 20% discount.

BIO-Europe (Vienna)

At the 31st edition of BIO-Europe, Europe’s leading life sciences partnering event this time taking place in Vienna on 3-5 November, Medicon Village Innovation will be represented by our Innovation Manager Francesco Bez, and Director of Business Development Mikael Lagerwall. Their focus will again be to participate in numerous partnering meetings with companies interested in investing their expertise, resources, and energy into our community, with the aim of expanding their business in the Nordics.

Slush (Helsinki)

We will be present for the first time to scout this event in Helsinki on 20–21 November, represented by our Innovation Manager, Francesco Bez, and Deputy CEO, Sarah Lidé. More info on this at Slush.org.

Signature events, delegation visits, and more

We organise more than a hundred signature events each year, hosted by companies and organisations that not only promote their services but also address challenges and opportunities for life science companies. September to November is our most event-intensive season of the year, and we look forward to a wealth of knowledge-sharing, networking, and new contacts that will strengthen collaboration between science and business.

We also look forward to welcoming delegations interested in our life science community, contributing to projects such as the ATMP Path2Patient initiative and Healthy Cities, and continuing to generate interest in what we and our community are capable of by publishing our newsletter, posting regularly, and growing our LinkedIn following.

Activities listed above are part of a broader programme at Medicon Village Innovation, which this autumn includes 20 major initiatives within the organisation’s 3C framework, supporting members, contributing to the wider community, and strengthening the innovation district.
