New Member Spotlight: APNC
We warmly welcome APNC as a new member of our life science park, located in our co-working space in The Spark!
APNC Sweden is a specialised statistical consultancy supporting life science research through biostatistics, bioinformatics, real-world evidence, and advanced data analysis. Quality is a core principle of APNC’s work, supported by structured quality processes that ensure reliable delivery and consistent methodological standards across projects.
We asked Aldina Pivodic, founder, CEO and member of the Board, to answer three key questions and share insights into how APNC aims to make a difference in our community and the wider regional industry.
What value does APNC bring to the Medicon Village life science ecosystem?
APNC contributes deep statistical expertise that strengthens research quality and decision-making throughout the life science value chain. By being physically present at Medicon Village, we lower the threshold for collaboration and make advanced statistical support more accessible to researchers, biotech companies, and start-ups.
Our experience spans clinical trials, registry-based research, epidemiology, and predictive modelling, allowing us to adapt our services to both early-stage projects and more mature development programmes. In addition to hands-on analysis, we provide strategic statistical advice to help organisations make informed decisions and plan their research efficiently. Proximity enables closer dialogue, faster feedback, and solutions that are better aligned with real project needs.
Which trends and challenges will shape your work in the near future?
The increasing complexity of data in life science is a major driver. Larger datasets, real-world evidence, and machine-learning applications require not only technical tools, but also strong methodological understanding. Ensuring that statistical quality keeps pace with innovation is a key challenge.
At the same time, there is a growing need to integrate statistics earlier in research and development processes. Helping organisations recognise the value of early statistical planning, rather than viewing it as a final validation step, will be an important focus area for us going forward.
Why is Medicon Village the right environment for APNC at this stage?
Medicon Village brings together a diverse mix of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship within the life sciences, which aligns well with APNC’s collaborative way of working. Being part of this environment supports knowledge exchange and long-term partnerships, rather than isolated consultancy engagements.
We see Medicon Village as a platform where high-quality research, shared learning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration can thrive, and we look forward to contributing our expertise to that collective development.
