Roche joins Medicon Village in new strategic partnership
We are pleased to announce that Medicon Village and Roche have signed a Letter of Intent to formalise and deepen our collaboration in support of Swedish life science. Through this agreement, Roche becomes a member of Medicon Village, marking the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership to accelerate the integration of medical innovations into the Swedish healthcare system.
By combining our role as Scandinavia’s largest life science park with Roche’s expertise in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, we aim to strengthen the life science innovation ecosystem. The collaboration will focus on improving access to new medicines and diagnostic tools, supporting the faster adoption of medical advances in clinical practice, and promoting knowledge exchange between academia, industry, and healthcare.
Yoshito Nakanishi, General Manager of Roche AB, highlights the significance of the agreement from Roche’s perspective:
“This is an important milestone for us at Roche. Through this collaboration with Medicon Village, we want to be a driving force in the development of Swedish life science and contribute to solving complex challenges within the Swedish healthcare system.”
Anders Nelson, CEO of Medicon Village Fastighets AB, sees Roche’s membership as an important step forward:
“At Medicon Village, we have over the years created an environment where leading research from Lund University coexists with healthcare providers and innovative life science companies. With Roche AB becoming a member, our community is further strengthened.”
Petter Hartman, CEO of Medicon Village Innovation AB, concludes:
“We look forward to working with Roche to advance Swedish life science. The challenges ahead can only be addressed through close cooperation between industry, academia, and healthcare – and this is precisely what Medicon Village is all about”.
