Talent attraction and retention: Medicon Village’s key activities in September-October

In Skåne’s fast-moving, R&D-rich environment, top talent is the driving force behind innovation and competitiveness. At Medicon Village, we create the right conditions for people to thrive, companies to grow, and expertise to stay in the region.

– In September-October our Competence focus is on getting our professional networks into gear, together with our 10XHealth accelerator for scale-ups. In parallel, we are also planning the upcoming Career Day, organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University, which will take place on 3 December in Inspira, says Lottie Norrsén, Event & Project Manager at Medicon Village Innovation.

Professional networks gearing up

Our professional networks are platforms for experienced professionals to exchange strategic knowledge, mentor peers, and stay up to date. Interest in them continues to grow year by year, with 707 members from 325 organisations/companies at present. Scheduled meetings in September-October:

10xHealth accelerator round 2 initiated

10xHealth is our scale-up programme organised in collaboration with SmiLe Venture Hub:

  • The second module takes place on 18 September, focusing on strategy and business model innovation with experts Thomas Kalling, Professor of Strategy, and Craig Mitchell, Programme Director of the Master’s Programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Director of the LUSEM Startup Hub, both at Lund University School of Economics and Management.
  • The third module takes place on 21 October, focusing on people and governance with experts Magnhild Owman, SmiLe Venture Hub, and Martin Stenfeldt, Scaling Life Sciences.

International Citizen Days in Copenhagen

Medicon Village will be represented at International Citizen Days in Copenhagen on 19 September. Together with partners from the Cross-border Talent Bridge programme – including Ideon Science Park, Lund Municipality (ICHL) and OpenTech – we will collaborate in attracting and connecting talent across the Öresund region.

Activities listed above are part of a broader programme at Medicon Village Innovation, which this autumn includes 20 major initiatives within the organisation’s 3C framework – supporting members, contributing to the wider community, and strengthening the innovation district.
