We're looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead the setup and management of our newly established R&D-lab in Medicon Village Lund. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a life science start up journey and to build a GLP-lab from start.
About Us: Capillon Analytics AB is an newly started analytical laboratory specializing in chemical analysis using mass spectrometers and mass balance data. We're building a multidisciplinary team of professionals who are developing a novel method of detecting cancer. The research team includes scientists from Lund University, John Hopkins University and Chalmers University of Technology. We are heading towards clinical validation for our cancer detection test in 2026.
About you: As our Laboratory Manager, you will oversee the coordinating activities in the R&D laboratory in Medicon Village in Lund. You will play a critical role in making sure methods, training, and routines are established. You will also develop workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS). After initial start-up activities, you will lead the work to seek accreditation for the laboratory and its methods.
What You'll Do:
- Lead Lab Setup: Your main task will be to establish and organize the lab activities. This includes development of the strategic regulatory decisions and actions to reach GLP accreditation. The role is highly operational, it includes the early steps of lab setup such as ensuring proper lab documentation and the development of SOPs.
- Oversee Assay Development: As lab manager you will manage the development, optimization, and execution of mass spectrometry assays, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in every step.
- Ensure Compliance: Implement and maintain GLP standards and manage our QMS to meet industry regulations.
- Build and Lead a Team: Recruit, train, and mentor lab personnel, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Requirements that we are Looking For:
- Previous experience with successfully running a laboratory.
- Experience in working developing routines and standard operating protocols in a GLP-lab, preferably at least 3 years.
- Expertise in quality control and quality management systems (QMS) and documented experience in implementing and maintaining these systems.
Expertise that we see as beneficial:
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Three years experience or more in laboratory management, expertise with chemical analyses and / or mass spectrometry is a merit but not required.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup setting.
