Specialist Powder
As a Specialist in Powder Technologies, you will advance the ceramic part of BONESUPPORT’s platform, designing, planning and executing investigations, verifications and pre‑clinical studies to convert deep materials understanding into patient impact.
About the role
As Specialist in Powder Technologies, you will drive research and development with a focus on the ceramic (Calcium Sulfate and Calcium Phosphate) components of our products. You will plan, execute and report investigations, verifications and validations, and plan, execute and interpret preclinical studies (e.g., animal models in bone and infection). You will apply advanced material characterisation methods and analytical techniques to build deeper understanding and enable concrete application. The role may include serving as Project Manager for selected initiatives and as a project member or subject matter expert (SME) in others. You will also contribute to the patent portfolio and explore new IP opportunities, as well as transfer knowledge and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualification Requirements
- Sc. or higher in Inorganic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with specialisation in Ceramics, Powder Technology, Materials Science or Mineralogy
- Hands-on experience with advanced material characterisation methods and analytical techniques such as ICP, FTIR, BET, XRD, SEM, Raman spectroscopy and LC-MS
- Knowledge of surface chemistry, dissolution, precipitation, trace elements, foreign phase content, crystallinity, elemental impurities, specific surface area and particle size distribution
- Knowledge of powder processing methods
- Professional level of English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience from the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in designing, performing and interpreting results from preclinical animal studies (e.g., histology)
- Experience working with bone graft substitutes
- Understanding of ISO 13485 and documentation requirements
- Experience transferring research from lab to manufacturing
- Experience with method and process validations
- Veterinary background relevant to preclinical studies
