Three perspectives on conducting research and business in the life science industry

Medicon Village

As the life science sector in Skåne continues to evolve, the focus is shifting from innovation to commercialisation – turning cutting-edge research into scalable, commercial success. Amid strong R&D and patenting activity, companies in Skåne face complex challenges around funding, talent, and market access.

We share reflections on how to conduct research and business within the life science industry from three initiated life science stakeholders affiliated with Medicon Village, featured in the recently launched Life Science Barometer 2025 – Skåne Edition: Tom Harding, Partner and European Patent Attorney at Potter Clarkson; Markus Neuding, corporate finance expert and owner of Sedermera Corporate Finance; and Laura Chirica, CEO of Cellevate.

These and other insights are featured in the recently launched second edition of our annual Life Science Barometer 2025 – Skåne Edition. The report provides a comprehensive overview of Skåne’s life science sector, combining hard data with CEO sentiment and insights from industry leaders. This year’s edition was produced by Medicon Village in collaboration with Potter Clarkson, and is based on data from Vinnova, Insight Machine, and survey responses from the national Life Science Barometer 2025, published by SwedenBIO in December 2024.
