Bridging the gap: Skåne’s life science companies connect with Stockholm’s investor community
On Thursday 4 September, start-ups and scale-ups from Medicon Village, SmiLe Venture Hub, Medeon Science Park and Ideon Science Park met with 40 Stockholm-based investors. The investors were selected by the independent investment bank ABG Sundal Collier with the aim of connecting innovative companies from southern Sweden with potential sources of capital.
Companies presenting included Reccan, Strike Pharma and Transient Pharma, all part of SmiLe Venture Hub at Medicon Village.
The initiative sought to address the gap between Skåne’s innovation ecosystem and the financial community in Stockholm, noting that much of the region’s research and development has not yet reached the capital’s investor networks.
The effort forms part of Medicon Village’s 3C approach to supporting innovation by securing capital for life science growth. At Medicon Village, we connect promising companies with funding, while also building the skills and networks needed to embed investor readiness early in the start-up journey. The result is a proven model where innovation and capital work hand in hand – giving founders the right conditions to thrive and supporting the full journey from lab to market.
