Medicon Village and Roche AB mark one year of strategic partnership
One year has passed since Medicon Village Innovation and Roche AB entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration across the life science ecosystem and accelerating the implementation of healthcare innovations in Sweden.
To mark the anniversary, Olalla Grau, General Manager at Roche AB, and Medicon Village Innovation CEO Petter Hartman met at Roche’s office in Stockholm to reflect on the first year of collaboration and discuss priorities for the year ahead.
Since the partnership was launched in September 2025, Medicon Village and Roche have worked together to address key issues related to the implementation of healthcare innovations and patient access to new treatments and diagnostics. Activities have included roundtable discussions, seminars and dialogue meetings bringing together representatives from healthcare, academia, industry and other key stakeholders.
The partnership also aims to strengthen connections across the life science ecosystem. By bringing together Roche’s expertise in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics with Medicon Village’s broad community of researchers, entrepreneurs and companies, the collaboration provides opportunities to facilitate interaction between large and small companies, academia and healthcare.
“Our partnership with Roche is important not only because it enables us to jointly address some of the challenges facing Swedish healthcare, but also because it helps us create stronger connections across the life science ecosystem. We look forward to building on the first year and further developing our collaboration,” says Petter Hartman, CEO of Medicon Village Innovation.
The partnership is based on a Letter of Intent signed in 2025, when Roche also became a member of Medicon Village. Looking ahead, the two organisations will continue to focus on knowledge exchange, dialogue, networking and policy engagement – with the shared ambition of contributing to a stronger Swedish life science sector and accelerating the implementation of innovations that can benefit patients.
