Regionala innovationssystem – grunden för Sveriges konkurrenskraft
On Thursday 25 June, we will take part in Skånes Innovationsarena in a large tent at Hamnplan, in a unique collaboration with AMYNA, Biotech Heights, Ideon Science Park, Lunds kommun, Malmö University, Medeon Science Park, Medicon Village, Region Skåne and Science Village Scandinavia.
At 13.00-14.00, there will be a seminar in Swedish on "Regionala innovationssystem – grunden för Sveriges konkurrenskraft", hosted by Region Skåne. Please note that the program and its speakers/panelists might be updated before it takes place – updated program in the official program for Almedalsveckan.
Seminar focus
Sweden’s competitiveness is built within regional innovation systems, where knowledge, capital, and competences circulate between companies, universities, and the public sector. In, strong research environments form the foundation of a powerful life science innovation ecosystem. But what is required to give it the very best conditions to thrive?
This is where companies, universities, test environments, and the public sector come together – and where research is transformed into jobs, exports, and solutions to societal challenges.
Research on clusters and regional innovation systems shows that innovation largely emerges in geographically concentrated environments where knowledge, capital, and competences circulate between stakeholders. This is perhaps most evident within life science.
Using concrete examples from, this seminar will demonstrate how research strengths have evolved into innovation systems, how conditions for companies have been improved, and which factors are required for these systems to strengthen and grow further.
The discussion will also explore how the European Commission’s proposal for National and Regional Partnership Plans (NRPPs) could either support or hinder regional innovation systems across Sweden.
