Medicon Village Smart Mobility – together we make a difference
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we encourage companies, organisations and the individuals they engage to travel in a climate-friendly way to and from our life science park. In line with this ambition, our Smart Mobility initiative brings together partners to offer a range of supportive services.
One example of these efforts is the installation of screens displaying timetables for Skånetrafiken trams and buses in the neighbourhood, mounted on a wall near the reception of The Spark and near the entrance to Inspira.
To promote cycling, we offer covered bicycle parking at various locations across our science park, as well as indoor parking in The Spark. We plan to further enhance these facilities to meet growing demand, and to complement the existing air stations with self-repair tools, alongside on-site servicing provided by an external operator.
We are also in discussions with providers of bike hire and electric scooter hire to facilitate smooth mobility within the surrounding area.
In May 2023, Medicon Village was verified in accordance with ISO 26000, becoming the first science park in Sweden to have its sustainability work verified. More on how we as a life science park work in sustainable ways at mediconvillage.se/sustainability.
Feel free to engage with mikael.lagerwall@mediconvillage.se, if you have ideas on other sustainable mobility efforts we should consider.
