Partners
To foster research, innovation, and business development within the life science field, Medicon Village participates in initiatives and collaborates with partners as a foundation for growth and added value.
Medicon Valley Alliance (MVA)
A non-profit membership organisation in the Danish-Swedish life science cluster of Medicon Valley, which is a part of Greater Copenhagen, including Skåne. MVA creates value for members by co-hosting, launching, and driving meetings, working groups, seminars, conferences, and projects that strengthen collaboration, networking, and knowledge-sharing within the region’s life science community.
OpenTech
OpenTech was founded as a cluster organisation in 2009 by Ericsson, Sony, Telia, Lund University, Malmö University, and Region Skåne. We were initially called Mobile Heights, but changed our identity when updating our strategy in 2024 to better reflect our focus on tech. OpenTech is co-funded by the regional government, Region Skåne. We are owned by our members, who help set our organisational priorities to help current and potential members thrive.
Twins International MultiHelix (TIM)
This is a partnership agreement between five international clusters and MultiHelix AB, facilitating investments and partnerships, representing collaboration in the life sciences and technologies among science parks and clusters in North America, Asia, and Europe. These clusters, science, and technology parks share a common vision of creating an international Life Science “supercluster”, focused on addressing and solving societal challenges to improve health and well-being. The partners’ collective mission is to collaborate internationally in order to prosper regionally.
SwedenBIO
The national non-profit association for the life science industry in Sweden, with member companies active within pharma, biotech, diagnostics, and medtech, encompassing the entire spectrum from small start-ups to SMEs and large enterprises. Other members are experts in fields such as IP, law, finance, product development, life science communication, and business development.

SmiLe Venture Hub
In order to facilitate research, innovation and business development within the field of life science, Medicon Village takes part in initiatives and collaboration with partners as a prerequisite for growth and added value. One of our most important partners since our founding is SmiLe Venture Hub.
SmiLe Venture Hub is a non-profit business incubator for life science startups looking to develop next-generation healthcare and life science technologies.
This is realized by offering life science entrepreneurs advanced coaching programs, well-equipped labs with state-of-the art instruments, a large international network of industry partners and investors, and a community of world-class life science innovators.
SmiLe Venture Hub do not take equity in the companies they support. Working on a no-equity, non-profit basis enables them to build a neutral platform for launching health innovation into the world.
Promoting Sustainable Innovation
In assessing how sustainability aligns with SmiLe Venture Hubs mission, operations, and activities, they examined how these elements correspond to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the United Nations’ (UN) Agenda 2030. The conclusion was that the presented SDGs are integrated into everything they undertake.
Built on a Successful Foundation
As SmiLe Venture Hub celebrated its first 15 years of accomplishments in January 2023, with over 100 incubator and alumni companies that have attracted EUR 717 million in venture capital for their innovations and exceptional business concepts, and 21 companies having launched an IPO.
