Smile Incubator – enabling life science innovation

In order to facilitate research, innovation and business development within the field of life science, Medicon Village takes part in initiatives and collaboration with partners as a prerequisite for growth and added value. One of our most important partners since our founding is SmiLe Incubator.

SmiLe Incubator is a non-profit business incubator for life science startups looking to develop next-generation healthcare and life science technologies.

This is realized by offering life science entrepreneurs advanced coaching programs, well-equipped labs with state-of-the art instruments, a large international network of industry partners and investors, and a community of world-class life science innovators.

SmiLe Incubator do not take equity in the companies they support. Working on a no-equity, non-profit basis enables them to build a neutral platform for launching health innovation into the world.

Sustainable innovation

In evaluating what sustainability means to SmiLe Incubator, they reviewed how their mission, operation and activities reflect the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) published by the United Nations (UN) in the Agenda 2030. The outcome was that the presented SDGs were embedded in everything they do.

Building on a successful platform

As SmiLe Incubator in January 2023 celebrated its first 15 years of success, with 100+ incubator and alumni companies over the years attracting EUR 717 million in venture capital for their innovations and splendid business ideas, and 21 companies having launched an IPO.
