Från projekt till resultat – kan utfallskontrakt skala upp prevention?
On Wednesday 24 June, we organise Life Science-dagen in a large tent at Hamnplan, in collaboration with AbbVie, AstraZeneca, Chiesi, Lund University, Novo Nordisk, Roche and SmiLe Venture Hub.
At 13.00-13.45, there will be a seminar in Swedish on ”Från projekt till resultat – kan utfallskontrakt skala upp prevention?”, hosted by Novo Nordisk Scandinavia. Please note that the program and its speakers/panelists might be updated before it takes place – updated program in the official program for Almedalsveckan.
Seminar focus
Sweden is facing rising levels of ill health and growing welfare costs. Despite strong evidence supporting prevention, it remains difficult to scale up preventive initiatives. How can new governance and financing models create better conditions for long-term investments in health?
Despite compelling evidence for prevention, Sweden struggles to move beyond pilot projects and short-term initiatives towards long-term investments that can achieve impact at scale. One important reason is that current governance and funding models often reward activities rather than outcomes. Outcomes-based contracting is an approach attracting growing interest. By linking payment to verified results, public, private and non-profit organisations can create new incentives for preventive action. But which societal challenges are best suited to outcomes-based financing? How can outcomes be measured in a credible way? And what changes are needed for prevention to be viewed as an investment rather than a cost?
Anders Ekholm of Ett Friskare Sverige will open the seminar and then moderate a discussion on how Sweden can take the next step – from projects to outcomes, and from short-term interventions to long-term investments in health.
