Från finansieringsgap till tillväxtmotor – hur lyfter vi svensk medtech?
On Thursday 25 June, we will take part in Skånes Innovationsarena in a large tent at Hamnplan, in a unique collaboration with AMYNA, Biotech Heights, Ideon Science Park, Lunds kommun, Malmö University, Medeon Science Park, Medicon Village, Region Skåne and Science Village Scandinavia.
At 10:00-10:45, there will be a seminar in Swedish on ”Från Skåne till Europa: hur industriell bioteknik kan stärka Sveriges konkurrenskraft”, hosted by Medeon Science Park. Please note that the program and its speakers/panelists might be updated before it takes place – updated program in the official program for Almedalsveckan.
Seminar focus
Swedish MedTech has significant potential but is held back by a funding gap between verified innovation and implementation in healthcare. What does the sector need to become a stronger engine for growth?
Swedish MedTech has the potential to become a more powerful driver of growth for healthcare, exports and regional development. At the same time, many companies face significant funding gaps in the journey from validated innovation to implementation within healthcare services.
During this seminar, Medeon Science Park, Smile Venture Hub and Invest in Skåne will present the findings of a feasibility study funded by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket). Based on interviews with startups, scale-ups, established companies and investors, the study explores the current funding landscape and highlights the challenges faced by companies at different stages of growth.
We will also present a new report on the MedTech sector in Skåne, produced by Regional Development Skåne in collaboration with Invest in Skåne.
The seminar will conclude with a panel discussion featuring representatives from industry, investors and the innovation ecosystem, who will discuss the conditions needed to strengthen Swedish MedTech and create better opportunities for companies to grow, attract investment and bring their innovations to healthcare providers and patients.
