Samverkan räcker inte – hur får vi forskning att göra skillnad?
On Thursday 25 June, we will take part in Skånes Innovationsarena in a large tent at Hamnplan, in a unique collaboration with AMYNA, Biotech Heights, Ideon Science Park, Lunds kommun, Malmö University, Medeon Science Park, Medicon Village, Region Skåne and Science Village Scandinavia.
At 14:00-14:45, there will be a seminar in Swedish on ”Samverkan räcker inte – hur får vi forskning att göra skillnad?”, hosted by Malmö universitet. Please note that the program and its speakers/panelists might be updated before it takes place – updated program in the official program for Almedalsveckan.
Seminar focus
There is no shortage of research, innovation or technological solutions. So why do promising initiatives so often remain at the pilot stage, despite clear needs and readily available solutions?
Research is expected to drive innovation and deliver societal benefit through collaboration between the public sector, industry and civil society. Yet many initiatives never progress beyond the project phase. Turning ideas into reality requires shared responsibility and a willingness to invest for the long term.
We often see this challenge in prevention and societal transformation. Research demonstrates interventions that generate significant long-term benefits, but the costs arise today while the rewards may be realised by entirely different stakeholders in the future. This creates a gap between knowledge and action, where projects are carried out but implementation never follows. The result is a situation in which everyone recognises the need for change, yet no one takes full ownership of driving it forward.
Is meaningful change possible, and if so, how? The problem is rarely a lack of knowledge, ideas or ambition. More often, it lies in how we organise, finance and take responsibility for change. Together, we will explore what makes a solution viable in practice: who can use it, under what conditions, and who must be involved. The discussion will centre on three key questions: Who captures the value? Who pays? And who needs to change the way they work?

Skånes Innovationsarena is a joint effort by the prominent companies and organisations involved, as a continuation of the former Öresundshuset, with the aim of raising awareness of all the fantastic things happening in our part of the country while showcasing the power of collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector.
During Almedalsveckan 2026 Medicon Village also organise Life Science-dagen on Wednesday 24 June.
