New laboratory facility boosts Medicon Village as southern Sweden’s life science hub

Medicon Village

This summer, we open the latest addition to our science park – a specially designed, state-of-the-art laboratory building for advanced research and medical development. The new facility strengthens Medicon Village’s role as the natural hub for research and entrepreneurship in life sciences in southern Sweden.

Through this investment in 12,500 square metres spread across four floors, the conditions for continued expansion in the coming years are strengthened. The new laboratory facility is estimated to host 7 to 8 companies and 300 to 350 workspaces when it is fully operational.

“The building will provide opportunities for existing companies to expand and will also allow new companies to establish themselves with us and grow,” says Erik Jagesten, CEO of Medicon Village Fastighets AB.

The first company to move into the new laboratory building is Medicon Village member Truly Labs, which offers contract research in drug development with a focus on translational research, i.e. the transition from pre-clinical to clinical activities. They will then be joined by four other fast-growing member companies: Alligator Bioscience, SARomics Biostructures, Cellevate, and Redoxis.
