New initiative: ”Skånes Innovationsarena under Almedalsveckan 2026”

Last Monday, at Skåne Innovation Day 2025 by Region Skåne, we officially launched "Skånes Innovationsarena under Almedalsveckan 2026". This new initiative of our aims at bringing together prominent innovation leaders from our region at Almedalsveckan on Thursday, 25 June, in a large tent in a prime location.

We are doing this to highlight the strength of the Skåne innovation ecosystem, as a continuation of Skåne Innovation Day 2025 and the former Öresundshuset at Almedalsveckan, to increase awareness of all the fantastic developments taking place in our part of the country. It is also an opportunity to showcase the potential of collaboration between academia and industry, the support system, and the public sector.

This is how we intend, in practice, to make this an important Skåne innovation showcase:

Partners

We want to demonstrate that Skåne’s innovation capacity is stronger than ever by bringing together the region’s leading innovation actors for a theme day in our tent – in a premium location – concluding with an innovation mingle event.

Theme

We will let partners with the best knowledge of their field host panels covering their part of the innovation landscape within the areas that make Skåne strong: life science, food, deeptech, mobility, defence, and a bit more.

Execution

We have a premium tent that accommodates more than 100 guests, located in an A-grade spot at Hamnplan (on the curve). The location gives the entire tent the effect of a large sign with excellent visibility, decorated with messages linked to the day and our partners.

To ensure high quality – and to make things easy for our partners and everyone involved – we will take full responsibility for the whole arena, drawing on our team from our meeting venue Medicon Village in Lund and the experience gained from the hundred or so events we organise there each year.
