Efforts to support talent attraction and retention

In Skåne’s fast-moving, R&D-rich environment, top talent is the driving force behind innovation and competitiveness. At Medicon Village, we create the right conditions for people to thrive, companies to grow, and expertise to stay in the region.

Our key initiatives:

  • Opinion formation to strengthen the regional and national conditions for competence development, talent attraction and retention. As an example you can read our commentary article published on the Nordic Life Science website: There is no science without talent (16 September, 2025).
  • Matchmaking – connecting jobseekers and employers, from promoting open positions on our website and on LinkedIn to the annual Career Day Life Science – a full day of networking, insights, opportunities, and more.
  • Training – operator training programmes in partnership with Komvux Malmö, the South Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Medeon, and regional industry partners.
  • Inspiring future talent – project-based coaching and career talks for students at Lund’s upper secondary school Katedralskolan (read more).
  • Professional networks – platforms for experienced professionals to exchange strategic knowledge, mentor peers, and stay updated.
  • International talent – through the EU Interreg financed Cross-Border Talent Bridge initiative, we help attract and integrate global expertise with cross-border career events, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Community vibe – by combining after works with art exhibitions, Family Days, and more, we strive to make our science park into a vibrant meeting point, tailored for those who want more than just four walls.

By combining job promotion, training, mentoring, and international collaboration, we build a stronger life science workforce – ready to turn research into impact.
