Intense NLSDays

Medicon Village

NLSDays 2024 last week was a truly energising experience for the Medicon Village crew, setting a new record with over 1,400 delegate registrations, +130 exhibitiors, +80 sponsors, +120 presenters and speakers, from over +30 countries. During the two days at this premier venue for doing business with Nordic life science companies, we held 33 formal partnering meetings, along with several informal meetings with attendees.

A new feature for us at the venue was having our own stand, in a prime location positioned between Medicon Valley’s stand and the lounge area, right next to the entrance, which we encouraged our members to use as their platform for meetings. Many members took advantage of this opportunity, with some also displaying printed material on our shelves. We also listed all of our members on our backdrop, the tallest at the show, as a way to showcase our community at this premier venue.

The picture shows part of the HALRIC gathering at our booth, with Emanuel Larsson and Selma Maric sharing insights on how companies can benefit from the HALRIC cross-border network, which provides a shortcut to front-end technologies, instruments, and expertise offered by nine partner universities and large-scale research infrastructures, including MAX IV and ESS in Lund, as well as DESY and the European XFEL in Hamburg.

We now look forward to following up on all our meetings and preparing for our next major partnering events at the LSX Nordic Congress in Copenhagen on 8-9 October, and BIO-Europe in Stockholm on 4-6 November.
